A new challenge.

Four years ago, I turned up at Kensington Avenue Primary School as a wide-eyed and nervous PGCE student, who was just about to embark on her first placement. From that moment on, the learning curve has been immense and I can honestly say that no two days in the past four years have been the same. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the community there. For me, school and being a teacher has been completely intertwined with life at KAPS.

However, after Christmas I will be moving on and experiencing life at another school as I discussed with my class today. I will miss many, many people at KAPS, but I am equally excited about the new challenges ahead. From January, I will be teaching a Year 5/6 class at a school in Greenwich and taking responsibility for ICT again, but also Enterprise education too, which I have developed a real passion for over the last year – you can tell this from the tags on my blog posts! It is an opportunity to stretch and develop myself and move on to the next stage of my career and I feel ready for it.

If any teachers who follow me on Twitter are teaching in Greenwich, please say hi as I will be looking to make links.

A new year and a new challenge – here’s to 2013.
